I have been getting Hand in Hand Outdoors big pontoon boat ready to start fishing with disabled kids and veterans on Utah Lake, so I used yesterday morning as an excuse for a little pre-fishing. The bite was on for white bass as well as mud cats and channel cats as well. We caught about 2 dozen in a very short time on silver Mepps spinners and ultralight tackle. The fish were healthy and they seemed a little larger than usual. Maybe because the Loy's include them with their carp take. In any case the fish fought hard and I am looking forward to start fishing the vets after my return from Zihuatanejo, Mexico where I hope to take a giant yellowfin tune on light tackle.
Incidentally, all the white bass were males and dripping milt
