Joes Valley Reservoir, any pointers?
#1
We've decided to venture to a new area on Monday and are going to Joes Valley. I'll be taking my wife and 3 kids down. Going to take a stab at fishing it from a boat. Looks like a gorgeous reservoir to fish, so if nothing else there's that. Any pointers you fellers may have and are willing to share would be much appreciated.

Very beautiful area. If you are after tiger muskie fish the shallows ane rocky shore areas. If you want to try for the large splake and cutthroat fish the deep water of the east side.
J V can be tough fishing if you don't know the lake. There is some great spots to take a small drive to some of the small scenic lakes in the area. (great for the kids) If you go straight on the road where the turn to the campground is (sign says ephriam ) That will take you up to grassy, and petes hole (there is signs) very scenic , cool weather , and always good fishing
The rivers feeding joesvalley can be good for wild cutthroat also (seeley and lowery)
Boating the lake is always nice , generally you will have 3/4 of the day on pretty glassy water , gret for water skiing / tubing , The water can be a bit cold this time of year though

cast a rapala up into the shallows and retrieve back to the boat for tiger muskies. Troll a small spinner for splake.

Had to postpone the trip, wife woke up with a migraine this morning goofed up the plan. Hopefully get down there soon. Did burn up to DC to get the kids out this evening. 2 came unbuttoned before we could get them to the boat. 1 on a flash lite setup with a mouse tail and the other on a brass colored needlefish. Thanks again for the pointers. Hopefully get to put them to work soon.
