Pretty New Fisherman
#1
I'm going camping/fishing with my friends in about 4 days. My reel up and broke on me this morning when i was trying to get ready. I used to use a bait caster reel, never really had an issue, my question is. Should i buy a new bait caster or switch to spin casting. Also, i have a medium power rod and it says use 7-17 lb test line, but my grandfather used to say that 20 pound test was the way to go, what do i do. should i go for Hybrid, mono, braided or fluorocarbon line. i'm on a bit of a budget, i have between 70 and 90 dollars to spend (because of 20$ dick's store credit). any suggestions. Help is much appreciated.

hmmm, i'd go with the lews high speed spinning reel and 14 lb fire line or 15lb power pro braid since your on a budget, but if you need to cast far go with the fire line. Check out the Berkely Nanofill in 17 lb give that a try best casting line but will fray much easier.
