Leer Ferry on the Colorado
#1
This weeks action:

It looks like March and it feels like March at Lees Ferry, which means some days are better then others. Low water flows are still keeping the best fish deep and away from the spawning bars.

You will always spot some resident fish in these places, but the high number usually associated with migrating fish is not happening this year; at least not yet. The low water flows of last summer (Enviromental) and high sunlight days literally cooked prime river vegetation. We have been told by a reliable source that the river will be somewhat higher this summer. Let's hope so.

In the meantime, look for those midge hatches to start fattening up fish and continue to go deep for big bows streamer and sinking lines are the ticket. Try brown with flash and beadhead wooley buggers and a dry & dropper #18 zebras copper & black, silver & red for those shore fish.

For some new fishing excitement, call us regarding "Striper" action at Lake Powell. Also, don't miss the Million Dollar Fish Contest at Lake Powell May 1 - 24, 2001. Call for details.
