#1
my pal sent me his report , thought i'de pass it on . it has been edited to conform to the bft standards. It's been over 7 weeks since I've last contacted you. My time has
been in short supply and a severe case of procrastination on my part
has further delayed me from contacting you. With the onset of the new season
just around the corner, I'll be sending out at least a bi-monthly contact letter. [#ff0000]Manistee River Steelhead Report

There's just not much to report on when it comes to the big river.
The weather has been hampering efforts, along with a vast portion
of the river being frozen completely over. There's only one launch
ramp open, with the rest being frozen in. High Bridge access is open.
The word is, "the river is skinny on Steelhead" with not many fish being taken
even up at Tippy Dam. Factor in the water temperature of the river is in the
33 degree range and you'll see why the fish are not cooperating.

I've sold my riverboat operation to Capt. Jay Frolenko. He's young, dedicated
and has a firm grasp of the big river. Please consider him if your beginning
to suffer from "cabin fever." The weather will be breaking soon and I'm sure
you'll enjoy Jay's company while he puts you into fish. Contact me and I'll gladly
handle your reservations for your March and April Steelheading events. [#ff0000]Capt. John's Salmon Symposium 3/27/04

[/#ff0000]I've rented the Stronach Township Hall on March 27, 2004 for a learning
experience for all the members of my website. I have a great list of knowledgeable
speakers covering all aspects of trolling the Great Lakes for Salmon and Trout.
I will be doing a thorough presentation on successful tactics with cut-bait.

The price of my symposium is the best word in the American language, "FREE!"
Orientation and registration is at 9am. From more info please click on this link:

miserable in Manistee County since the first week of January. Snow and
below zero temps will not dampen my enthusiasm for the upcoming
[#ff0000]"hot action"[/#ff0000] in the 2004 season!

the three of us are heading up the last weekend in Feb.(27,28,29) to try are luck on the famous steelhead. We will be down a little way from Tippy Dam about a 3/4 mile. what is it looking like? Is there alot of shelf Ice? We will be staying at the pine river cabins just out of Wellston.
I think it is a little early still but my two buds are running into the cabin fever problems and need to wet a line.
