State parks and reservoirs Special Events Calendar now available
#1
Dreaming of warmer days and planning visits to Indiana’s state parks and reservoirs can get an added boost with the 2004 Special Events Calendar for Indiana state parks and reservoirs.

Just point your Web browser to www.IN.gov/dnr/parklake. You’ll find information about upcoming hikes, fossil digs, holiday fireworks, reenactments, star programs, music in the outdoors, special autumn family weekends and even a 500-mile bike ride.

The DNR’s parks and reservoirs present events to enjoy all year round. February features hunter education classes at J. Edward Roush Lake, participation in the Great Backyard Bird Count at Raccoon SRA and Brown County State Park, and a bluebird box building workshop at Potato Creek State Park.

March includes a bluebird box building workshop at Clifty Falls State Park, an early spring wildflower workshop at Fort Harrison and the first of several new bus tours hosted by Spring Mill State Park.

Hoosiers of all ages and interests can find entertainment, relaxation and outdoor learning opportunities in any season.

Many of the events are free with entrance gate admission. Some events include a small fee to help cover the cost of materials and preparation.

For up-to-date information about the many other daily or weekly programs, nature brochures and interpretive center hours, visit the parks and reservoirs on the web at www.in.gov/dnr/parklake/interpretiveservices.

To receive a paper copy of the 2004 Special Events Calendar, contact the DNR’s Chief Interpreter Ginger Murphy at 317-232-4124.
