Mammoth Reservoir - How low will it go?
#1
A couple of us fished Mammoth today from our tubes using fly gear. We launched near the middle of the reservoir about 9:30 and fished until 2:30 picking up all tiger trout between 13" - 17" long.

We used fast sinking lines with size 6-10 bead head buggers and leeches in black, orange, and green.

The reservoir level is at 35% and going down. It's as low as I've seen it since they raised the dam.

Water temp was 60-65 degrees and the visibility in the water of only about 4' because of algae.

The water levels in most of our reservoirs is getting really low. I hope we get a good winter or we are going to have some big problems.

Otter Creek 18% full, Piute 2% full, Yuba 4% full, and the list goes on.[:/]

Pray for snow this winter!
Now would be a perfect time to extend the boat ramp at several reservoirs, Especially Mammoth.

Your right.

It wouldn't be that hard at Mammoth since they just used the pre-fabed concrete sections to add a few more.
