A buddy and I fished Joes Valley today in our tubes. We launched from the new boat ramp (it's out of the water) about 10:00 and fished until 2:30. We used fly tackle with both medium and fast sinking lines and size 6-8 buggers and leeches in brown, black/copper, black/silver.
The water temperature was 44-47 degrees and the visibility in the water of about 5'. The reservoir level is 49% full and stable.
It was a beautiful day with no wind until after 1:00 and then it was only about 6-7 mph.
We picked up some small rainbows stocked in September, 6" - 7", a few splake and some cutthroats. My buddy picked up a nice cutthroat just over 20".
It was a fun day on the water with no competition.[]
