Fish Lake 1/8/19
#1
Hit Fish Lake yesterday morning arrived just before 8:00 temp was 9 degrees, no wind, clear blue sky. Fished north of Joe Bush walked out about 150 yards to get out of the weeds. Ice was 8” Fished in 15-30’ FOW, started out using paddle bugs tipped with mealworms, no takers. Switched to a green Ratfinkee with a mealworm, let the fun begin. Caught 3 lake trout pups, 5 rainbow, 10 splake, 1 unknown (picture posted), it was rather rough looking missing fins and a short tail) well over 100 perch. The fish quit biting about 1:30 walked off the lake at 2:00 it warned up to 35 degrees, not a puff of wind the whole time on the lake.

That ugly bugger is a brood laker...it was a hatchery fish that was used for eggs/milt to raise more lake trout.
