Weird Question about Catfish

I don't catch a lot of catfish so this might be a dumb question but here it goes lol.
I cought a channel catfish last summer and while going through old photos I realized it had red fins. I looked it up and saw that there's a type of catfish known for its red fin but none here in NY where I cought it. I was wondering if it's rare or a hybrid or something because honestly I have no clue lol I have a lot more luck on my perch that I usually catch lol

[#0000FF]It is not uncommon for channel cats to have reddish colored fins. Not a disease. I have caught a lot of them over the years.[/#0000FF]

[#0000FF]There is a large catfish in South America...the red tailed catfish...that has much redder fins. It also gets a lot bigger than channels.[/#0000FF]
