Good day, bad night on FG
#1
Wanted to say thanks again to EyLayo and Catchinon for the road info. We were able to take RD 008 to within a few hundred yards of the ice and then unload machines to head out. I had a slow day at first only catching 3 fish (cut & 2 pups) from 8am-3pm but ended on a hot streak and caught 9 fish (2 bows & 7 pups) the last hour before sunset. All pups were kept, for the fishery [Wink], all others were released.

We ran across a scene that seemed to hint at a scary story as we were heading across the main bay south of Buckboard Marina. Ran into the owner of the rig later on. He said his son broke his arm, they had to help each other out of the water at 11 at night and then walked back to Buckboard, about 2 miles away. Be safe out there guys. ice travel can be a scary endevour.

That's good to know. We were out of Buckboard a week ago and the ice was thick/solid. A good reminder to always be aware, as we all get complacent.
We caught burbot and lake trout in 60-80' of water.
