Park rangers have killed deer at night in the Willow and Oakwoods Metropark in Belleville, Stony Creek in Macomb County’s Washington Township, Kensington Park in Milford and Indian Springs Park in White Lake, said David Moilanen, chief of interpretative services for the parks.
Deer overpopulation forced parks to suspend their hunting ban for about 20 days last year. More than 1,650 deer have been killed by local hunters and sharpshooters since 1999 in state-sanctioned hunts in seven of the region’s 13 metroparks [/#000000]
