Footesite Dam , Oscoda
#1
I went to Footsite Dam in Oscoda today , 1st fish a little over 28" and a weight of 8.65 pounds , 15 minutes to real in on 6# test line . Not crowded at all , fishing was hot 2 days ago and slow today .
DNR was there taking a survey of caught fish .
Time caught , method used , how long fishing for the day , how many times I've fished for them this year .
Then basic info on the fish .
2nd fish of the day 26-7/8 " DNR said , I measured 25-1/2 " , 6.38 pounds .
A little over a half hour bringing this one in , she was a fighter .

Nice, what a difference a day or two makes, thanks for sharing your report and pics Allen. The way the DNR measure fish here is by pinching the tail together before checking the length, is that how they were able to get a longer length than you measured? Either way, both are great fish.

Yes , he did pinch the tail .
I don't measure like that , Seriously , I haven't seen a fish that swims like that .
It would be like standing on your toes to see how tall you are , LOL !
Snow is in the forecast , , we'll see if I can get out this coming weekend .

That is just they way the do it to get a standard length, they do it that way in the tournaments I've been a part of too.
We got snow overnight too[crazy], good luck if you get out again this weekend.
