Flaming gorge
#1
We left Logan Friday night and stayed in Vernal. Left vernal at 5 in the morning and got to the sheep creek boat launch at 6:45. Launched not knowing we’re to go or were to start fishing. Went through a little shallow part up lake and found some boats fishing the red cliff area so we put our riggers down to 30 feet, 50 feet, and 60. We got our fist fish on a lime green and white hoochie. After about 15 minutes of trolling. I thought it was going to be very easy so we realed up all the riggers up to 30-35 feet and didn’t get another hit for an hour! this time on a orange wedding ring right after our trolling motor died. :/ but got that fish in and went back after it. We found most fish right at the start of the red cliffs not further up by the slides. They hit mostly the lime green and white hoochie. Only that one on the orange wedding ring. The other producer was a yellow with orange flake hoochie. We had hits on and off on only those two colors. But ended the day at about 1:30 with 4 Kokanee in the boat and one rainbow. We did loose 4 other Kokanee that we should have landed but we failed. All In all it was fun and the canyons close to the red cliffs are beautiful!!

Sounds like nice, but long, day. Maybe its just the colors on my monitor but are those already starting turn pink?

That is beautiful section of the gorge for sure.
