Lake Wilson Ice off fishing
#1
March 1 2004 The last few day or so since ice off the stripers have been being caught mostly by the wader fisherman, throwing bucktails on the windblown points. I haven't seen or heard of anything over 8 lbs.but the season is beginning and you don't have to drill thru 10 inches of ice to go fishing. I have been wanting to get my boat in but the wind seems to be blowing constantly over 20 MPH which doesn't make for a fun day. So far today we have had about 1/2 inch of rain and more is forecast so this should really spark the fish into feeding. With the creeks and rivers flowing fresh water into the lake I can't wait to go. Good Luck, 2004 should be the best striper year we have had for along time, Madd Jack
