Huntington North Reservoir - Open to anyone again
#1
A buddy and I fished HN today from our tubes.  We launched at the state park boat ramp at 8:30 and fished until 3:00.  We were using fast sinking lines with various bead head buggers and leeches in size 6 and 8.  We picked up a pretty even mix of rainbows and wipers.  We fished the reservoir on March 12th but haven't been able to get back there because of the COVID thing.  Back then the water temperature was 42-44 degrees.  What a difference twelve to fourteen degrees makes in fishing success.

The reservoir level is at 91% full and dropping and the water temperature was 54-57 degrees.  The visibility in the water is about 7'.
There were five boats there during the day and a few shore anglers.
It's a nice place to bird watch also with loons, geese, ducks, eagles, egrets, cranes, and osprey.
It wasn't fast fishing but it was nice to get back over there and the quality of the fish made up for lack of quantity.
Wink
