Doing Summer Time
#10
(09-20-2020, 01:35 PM)Joe_Hill Wrote: Looks like you handle those carp more carefully than the trout. Are you new to trout fishing? Wrapping your hand around them and squeezing them might make a good picture but isn't idea if you plan to release them. All good if you're a meat fishermen. BTW 1 or 2 carp photos would have been plenty.
Quote:By the way, I do enjoy your pictorial posts.  Great fish and great photography.  I also love how those pictures probably make hardcore troutophiles cringe.  Keep up the good work.
i try

well yeah

took a summer vacation road trip as i always do
dark clouds of global pandemics
silver linings of potentials appear then disappear
a smith permit appears
and is gone
no #saltlife keys trip this spring
no poons 4 you this summer
[Image: DSCN1069_zps978f7fca.jpg]
the luau was always something i plan on
back when we were on lockdown and the wife said utah would peak mid july early aug, i was thinking im screwed
or one hell of a time to git out of the hood
My cali hippie bro Jose and i traded texts/plans throughout the spring and summer
Harry retired and id planned to fish with him this summer
So other than requesting a couple weeks pto from work i didnt make real solid plans
Joe got into town monday, i cranked out one last nofunday and headed home to pack
The  plan was to poopfish the bear tues
well given the choice of poopin in triple digits heat or rolling up n to elevation and being shown new waters
Joe picked green vrs brown
Im packing joes stoggie smokin and brown water sipping
hes bemoaning not being able to git a haircut
Id canceled some crown work to go skiwithharry at bigsky in feb, then the lockdown came my practitioner of dental arts cancelled my appointment
im bemoaning this packing and eating and i break a crown
So I send jose off tuesday morn to hook up with our bro saulminnow and go to the dentist to make sure i wasnt going to be dentally screwed in the wyo/mt land
he took xrays  cleaned it up packed some temp stuff on the sharp points and told me to go git the fish on
fur kid and i hit the road
legends and lore bound

rolled in bout 420

I met my bro saul on a forum "for those who fish"
hes one of them salt of the earth dudes who i kinda knew we were gonna gel at the 1st pm
he and his old lady met at the gold miners daughter bummed a few wasatch seasons then moved on windsward way
they have a cute little crib in town, but recently purchased a ghetto cabin and some land outta town by 1/2 moon and Fremont lakes to chill at and store the toys
nice spread
[Image: IMG_0021_(2).JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]
we settled in jose made pizza dough and whipped up meatlof for dinner
[Image: IMG_0088.JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]
sheldons girlfriend Ellie showed up i got drug thru the gravel and the bitch friend zoned him hardBig Grin
[Image: 0721201827b.jpg?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]
we got up and out early and headed up towards the winds
[Image: 0722200744a.jpg?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]
ran shuttles and got the float and be happy on
[Image: IMG_0026_(2).JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]
there were fish rising so Saul takes joes rod and says you need to hit the seam here and tosses to an eat of probably the nicest fish in the pod
[Image: IMG_0034_(2).JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]
one of those classic guide moments

cool  but busy stick water
[Image: IMG_0036_(2).JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]
jose lit em up pretty well
[Image: IMG_0066_(2).JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]
junk tossing bum up front
not so much
blacklipsmatter
[Image: IMG_0078_(2).JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]

[Image: IMG_0055_(2).JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]
[Image: IMG_0044_(2).JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]

[Image: IMG_0041_(2).JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]
sheldon sheldoned
[Image: IMG_0050.JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]
we got buzzed
but i was slow to git the camera out
[Image: IMG_0060_(2).JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]
Turned a few nice fish and stung one on the junks
did manage an eat
[Image: IMG_0059.JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]

[Image: SavedImage_0812200713e(1).jpg?width=1920...fit=bounds]matters
theyre natives
you dig

we woke up early
i gave joe my national park pass he went that way
I remember a time in my life where i needed to fish hard and gits em before it was over and i needed to return to the happy idiot struggle for legal tender time
and 2 weeks on the road gives ya time to do that
with a lot of the little things you passed by before to fullfill the need to catch more fish
and an bigger outlook of a bigger picture or some hippie stoner crap i tell myself as an excuse for not fishing harder Wink
[Image: IMG_0129_(2).JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]
i headed the long way back south pass style
[Image: IMG_0125_(2).JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]
to rendezvous with as hagen calls us mountain hippie one week a year friends in cody
The rendezvous of mountain folk has history and the luaus no different
[Image: IMG_0109_(3).JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]
It was pretty cool that an old timer showed up one night as the history of the luau goes back to the interwebular beginings as westwood camp in one of the og whippy stick fly flinging forums
0ver 1300 named lakes and  endless miles of creeks and rivers the winds have a lifetimes or 2 of piscatorial pursuits potentials
[Image: IMG_0122_(2).JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]
sheldon and i will be back

[Image: 0723200744.jpg?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]
stopped here to git safe and look for risers
[Image: IMG_0134_(2).JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]

stopped again here and swung the tailout in skunky futility
[Image: IMG_0138_(2).JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]
nobody home in the foam either
[Image: IMG_0146_(2).JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]
no poopers cruising on the res flats either
[Image: IMG_0149_(3).JPG?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds]
