MANTUA TOXIC????
#1
I was told there is a sign at Mantua warning of toxic water conditions.  Another source had made a call to the city offices and was told they were awaiting the results of a more recent test.

I checked online and found this: https://deq.utah.gov/health-advisory-pan...oring-2021

I may or may not have floated my tube there this past Friday. Didn't know about the advisory. Ooop. Fishing was less than stellar. Couple of bites and one perch to show for it. A little 7 incher. Water didn't look too bad to me. Some small cluster balls were all I saw for algae.

I doubt that you are going to change colors or grow any new appendages.  I did some digging into the research I did on that subject for my Utah Lake writeups.  The general takeaway I get is that even if you eat some fish from the lake it is not likely to be harmful.  If the toxins build up it is usually in the internal organs...like the liver...and seldom in the flesh.  So routine cleaning will remove most of the potential hazard.

I am attaching one of the papers I collected on the subject.
