Hey Jeff, can you use rule 6 twice? I don't have the rules in front of me but I thought we could only use it once.

Hey Lance  and Jeff - I checked the rules. "Rule 16 - You will be allowed to post one fish without disclosing the location." This is a change from past years when it used to be you could leave off one lake. In 2019/2020 it read "If you choose to, you may leave the name of one lake out of your posts. All fish from this lake do not need the name of the lake posted..." It must have been changed last year. Ron

I was under the impression it was the same lake could be omitted so as not to hot spot an area... I have let Ron know the location, but I'd prefer not to send a slush of pressure to this location because I got one nice fish and a couple other average ones... If I had known the rule had been changed, I would have posted the other two average under the location name, but now that this has been shown that it's the same location, I'd rather have those fish removed than post the name.. Thanks Jeff

Jeff sorry for the confusion. I sure don't remember changing the wording the year I ran the contest, but I must have done it. Can't imagine why I did it though. Happy to change it back next year but we better stick with it now as the contest is nearly over.

Agreed Lance, not a big deal just a point that we should read the rules each year, even if we wrote them once upon a time...

Thanks Ron, it was kind of a surprise, but had me digging in my heels trying to get it through the hole... really soft bite like a little blue gill, or something really small, but when I set the hook it was like an explosion... It took off like the mac do, so was a lot of fun... I see you got some nice ones your self, great bass and carp the other day... congrats... J

Exactly! I noticed the same thing with carp. Very light bite, but when you set the hook, the drag starts zinging. They're fun to catch and Pelican has too many.

I can only imagine trying to get something like that up through the hole.  Nice catch!

I had my flimsy rod too so it was my best and longest fight of the year. I was afraid the abrasion would break the line so I stuck the rod tip down under the ice and it kept circling and peeling drag for over ten minutes I didn’t think I’d ever land that one. Got lucky for sure. Thanks Jeff
