The rainbow was caught in the Thermalito diversion pool below the dam and was est. to be 38.2 lb and was 41" in length, with a 27" girth.

A monster for sure. Not really knowing this part of Cal, I've thinking this is an ocean run rainbow but I wonder if they can get that big in freshwater, anyone know?

I'm sure they could in the right lake, I thought the few I caught that went 10# was big, that makes those look small.
