Fishing locally in denver..
#1
Hi.. First time on the board, pretty cool Big Grin...

I was curious about fishing locally in denver and surrounding areas.. Im from las vegas and ive always fished lake mead (stripers primarily) so Im not really knowledgable about fishing here in the mountains ;/ Ive fished a couple streams around aspen georgetown and fished @ Washington Park (smith lake, dont laff).. Not alot of luck.. Caught 1 largemouth of out wash park.. But im really curious where I can catch some more largemouth. I dont have a float tube as of yet, which im sure i need. Just need to catch some fish, and not these tiny stream trout! Any advice would be appreciated Big Grin And im willing to catch ANY fish, even carp Smile from the shore!

doz,

There are quite a few good places to catch largemouths from shore around here. Some of my favorites are Sawhill Ponds, South Platte Park Ponds, and Chatfield Ponds. There are a bunch more ponds around town that have good populations of bass, just do some exploring. I have written some articles on Sawhill and South Platte ponds on my website, here are the links. Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be happy to help!

If you want to catch a lot of bluegill or small crappie go up to Banner lakes, we used to go there for the smaller species of fish and you will catch them there.

Try Aurora Reservoir, I have caught some very nice fish out of that lake and they have a lot of species of fish in the lake.
