Sheboygan brown trout
#1

[black]This morning we took our first trip of the year out of Sheboygan. The weather looked perfect not a breath of wind except it was only 23 degrees. When we got to the lake we were in for a surprise, the marina had frozen overnight. Luckily, a couple of boats were out before we got there and we were able to follow the path they made threw the ice. Once we left the harbor we noticed the lake temp was 32 degrees so we decided to head to the power plant in search of some warmer water. We set up the ski boards just outside of the power plant and trolled a combination of stick baits and Cleo’s. It didn’t take long and we had our first brown trout, he came on a silver and red Thin fin. For the next hour we kept very busy catching several more brown trout. Then suddenly the wind picked up from the south and just like someone flipped a switch, the fish were gone. It didn’t take long to convince us with the increasing waves and cold wind chill, it was time to quit. We finished the day with 7 brown trout from 3-8 pounds. We will keep you posted as we get a chance to fish.[/black]
