DETAILS:

After a bone-chilling winter, political leaders and members of the media get a chance to "strut their stuff" in the first-annual Northeast Great Outdoors Show turkey calling contest at the State Capitol. The contest, which will be held in West Capitol Park, is a precursor to the 18th Annual Northeast Great Outdoors Show on March 19 – 21 at the Empire State Plaza.

The contest will feature professional turkey calling judges from Pete Rickard, who will select a grand-prize winner and two runners-up.

Several live turkeys are expected to be on-site to help judges make a "sound" decision. Thus, the proof will be in the pudding as each contestant gets to make his or her case before "Tom" himself.

Professional turkey callers will be available in West Capitol Park starting at 11:30 a.m. to teach participants a few basic calls.[/size]

HHAHA this is the first time i ever seen one ofthese turky calli contests, haha it was great, funny, and boy do the boys git into it!! haha it showed on channel 8 up here in vermont, last week, and the guys were jumpin off the chairs on stage actin like a turkey, jumpin up and down, the little ones, holdin their mouth right haha so cute and funny even the big ones haha. later[][][cool] i never seen such a thing! haha granted this was a turkey callin contest, but was wonderin if they did that too! hahaha like to seen that! haha they need to lighten up haha
