them @^@#$ ediots dumped 1500 gallons of oil in the rouge rive, the oil travled down to the detroit river, from there the oil has made it to lake erie.

coast gaurd says walleye hunters stay north of the rouge river on the detroit river untill clean up is compleated.

athorities think that it came from a factory, they are taking samples in for testing to see what the oil is carring shuch as metal fragments or other substances to try to identifie the source.

the oil was dumped yesterday. it could have been dumped from a sewer tanker in to a storm drain. (my asumption) this is to easy since the folks in that area are mostly poor folk and do not poke their noses out the door scaired that it will get shot off. (8 children have been killed by drive by shootings since february)

http://myweb.ecomplanet.com/MESS6438/
Lookie See what the kids are up to.
Dave T. Up date - oil dumping.

The amount of oil dumped in to the river is far greater than first estimated.
[mad]So far they have vacuumed 5000 gallons of oil from the rivers

[mad]The contamination has stretched 17 miles

[mad]It is estimated that it will takes weeks to clean the contamination

[mad]Residents on the infected areas cannot use the waterways, their boats have to be pulled from the rivers and decontaminated. Their docks and ramps all have to be decontaminated.

[mad]The costs guard both American and Canadian has shut down all walleye fishing and all boat traffic on the Detroit River from the Rouge River down to Lake Erie.

[mad]Authorities are quoted in saying that they will not rest until the culprits have been caught.

http://myweb.ecomplanet.com/MESS6438/
Lookie See what the kids are up to.
Dave T. Maybe now they will see the errors of their ways. This is a crime not a bad business ethics issue and should be treated as such.

This has been the second incident in as many weeks.

I think that we need laws just as hard on environmental dumping that apply to individuals who infract the laws.

If a hunter or fisherman steps over the line takes one to many fish shoots something out of season bags one to many ducks... the DNR has the rights to take your equipment guns poles dogs the vehicle that you are driving your boat your license and throw you in jail.

I believe that if a company cant afford to conducts business in an ethical manor than they should not be allowed to business at all.

The persons who have committed the two crimes (one in ST Clair Shores and Rouge River) are less of a human being than a crack pusher and deserve to be treated as such.

I believe that if a business resorts to dumping waist that they should be treated the same as a drug pusher. They should loose their business their homes all the monies that the users have in the banks any and all resources that are available to them.

They are as guilty of passing contaminating drugs in to the wild life that ends up on the grocery store shelves in the form of fish. Yes commercial fishermen will not providing fish to the market because they have toxic waist in them. Here no laws to protect the consumer from this type of contaminations.

In an earlier post I mentioned that I thought that it might have been a tanker is that there are two dumping incidents. With in two weeks time and only 40 miles apart. In addition it is to easy for a tanker to park over top of a man hole or road drain and drop a hose into it over night and unload its full contents in a mater of a couple of hours.

The tanker that would be required would not be much bigger than a gas tanker.

I have been wrong many times in my life but in the words of a Sherlock Holms "after eliminating the obvious, anything left no mater how improbable is the solution"

lonehunter
My heart goes out for your loss (indeed it is a loss) as it is a loss to all of us who choose to live on this planet.

http://myweb.ecomplanet.com/MESS6438/
Lookie See what the kids are up to.
Dave T.
