Fishing has been very slow in recent days at Cottonwood Cove and Willow Beach, according to the Nevada Department of Wildlife. Several anglers who spent the entire night fishing from shore for stripers at Willow Beach late last week had no luck.
Over the weekend, NDOW creel census clerks checked only nine striped bass and a single channel catfish at Cottonwood Cove. The stripers ranged from 8 ounces to 1½ pounds.

Fewer people fished Cold Springs but rainbow trout that averaged 13 inches were caught. The fish were taken with an assortment of baits, with PowerBait being the most popular.[/font][font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"]Maes said that the surface water temperatures were 53 degrees and he expects that as the temperature rises, the fishing should continue to get better. Daytime temperatures reached the mid 60s while the nights dipped into the low 20s.
