[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][size 3]Pete Gill from Nevada State Parks said that fishing has been fair following the recent NDOW trout plant. Anglers landed a few rainbow trout that ranged from 11 – 12 inches. PowerBait and spinners were landing the fish.[/size][/font]

The ice is coming off the lake and anglers are now launching their boats to catch rainbow trout and northern pike. NDOW reports the fishing has been fair for trout that weigh around a pound and very good for 2-pound pike. The lake is located approximately 7 miles south of Ely along U.S. 93.[/indent]

[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][size 3]Anglers have seen some improvement in the fishing for striped bass in the Boulder Basin and Overton Arm over the past two weeks as a result of warming water temperatures.[/size][/font]

[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][size 3]Boaters have had good success for stripers recently near the old launch ramp at Las Vegas Wash and around the 33 Hole in the Boulder Basin. The fish are being caught with anchovies at depths of 40 to more than 100 feet. Most of the stripers weigh about a pound.[/size][/font]

[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][size 3]Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) creel census clerks checked several boaters on Saturday (3/27/04) at Overton Beach Marina who said they had fairly good luck for stripers around Fish Island. They were catching fish with anchovies that were around 1½ pounds.[/size][/font]

[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][size 3]Creel census clerks checked a boater over the weekend that caught several 4 – 5 pound channel catfish near St. Thomas. Two largemouth bass that weighed 2 pounds each were also caught in the area. [/size][/font][/indent]

Fishing has taken a turn for the better in the Cottonwood Cove area with boaters having good luck for striped bass that they caught by trolling and drifting
with anchovies. Over the weekend, a number of stripers weighing from under a pound to nearly 11 pounds were seen by NDOW creel census clerks at Cottonwood Cove.

The action continues to be slow around Willow Beach with very few stripers or trout now being caught in that area.
