What do you think?

I used to live in Contra Costa County. This news is pretty disappointing. What do you all think of this? Does it really mean that oil refineries will be safer? I'd especially like to hear what you residents of the state think.

i think that they are just hitting at a sore spot right now, with the high gas prices the tree huggers and gun rights activists know that if they can tie the two togheter they can get some more of our rights pushed under the carpet and we wouldnt object. i cant really say that it is such a bad thing having the .50 cal banned though, what good is it you cant hunt anything with it except wales and low flying jets so i see no point in having them around.

Allthough i doubt that a .50 would cause a "chemical bomb" at a oil refinery, it could easily puncture a tank or a pipe, and if a spark happened to ignite the fuel, gas, or oli, all that it would do is start on fire, not explode.
