Kentucky Lake & Lake Barkley
#1
Some of the best crappie fishing of the fall season has happened this past week. Beetlespin type jigs cast over shallow brush is really working. The fish are moving shallow during mid-day. Early and late fishing is not as good. The crappie are supending over the deep water and are dormant early and late in the day. Both of the big lakes are producing good catches. Largemouth have slowed on both lakes but smallmouth are very good on Kentucky Lake. Grubs, jig/pork and smallcrankbaits are taking fish off the gravel shorelines. Catfishing is really improving on both lakes, especially Lake Barkley. Most are being caught on nightcrawlers and cut bait, fished about 10' to 12' over 20' of water in the bays. Whitebass and sauger are slow. Bluegill are also slowing considerably.

www.kentuckylakebarkley.com
