Time to let sleeping Komodo Dragons lie, people. Let it go or continue on another site. This site is about fishing, all types, let's keep our comments directed to the subject at hand. Rule #1- the moderator has the right to censor all messages. Rule #2. If in doubt about any post, see Rule #1, Think of it as a question, Where does a 600 lb gorilla sleep? Anywhere he wants.
Now, back to fishing. I'm looking forward to some great night fishing at Pueblo Reservoir in southern Colorado when the warm weather finally arrives. I hear through the weekly fishing reports in the paper that the wipers, saugeyes, walleyes, bass and crappie are starting to hit shallow. Still too cold for the catfish to be stirring but it will shortly. I'll keep you posted. Nothing like fresh caught fish cooked over an open fire late in the evening. Anyone have any good recipes they'd like to share? Preferably anything with beer as one of the ingredients.

Add seasonings to flour or breadcrumbs such as salt, pepper, ms dash or red pepper.

Dip filets in mixture of eggs and beer (brand presently consuming), then dip fillets into breadcrumbs or flour. Dip again into batter, then again into powdered mixture.

Toss dipped fillets in skillet with onions and melted butter. The double dip will help keep some of the breading on, and keep in moisture.

Key is to use same beer as will be consumed before, during and after cooking...

Any fillets left, mail them to me..

[laugh]

Read this one on a health site. Mix one cup flower with one can of beer (your brand), mix well. Dip Fish in batter an fry in hot pan. The article said using beer in the batter doesn't let the high fat oils enter the fish.
