6-acre addition to the Pequest Wildlife Management Area
#1
A recent 6-acre addition to the Pequest Wildlife Management Area now
provides and protects access to a trout-stocked section of the Pequest
River in Warren County. Anglers are encouraged to use the parking area
along the river on Rt. 46, just upstream of the Rt. 31 intersection,
constructed by staff from the Division's Bureau of Land Management, to
access the area.

Division personnel will take advantage of an old railroad bed on the
other side of the river to provide numerous stocking points along the
stretch. The rail bed is also being used to stock trout within the
Seasonal Trout Conservation Area further upstream. Anglers can access
the conservation area from the Pequest River Angler Parking Area,
located at the entrance to the Pequest Trout Hatchery and Natural
Resource Education Center.
