Big Sandy Crappie Report April 11,2001
#1
The lake level is 358, the water temperature is 61- 67 The crappie are starting to spawn in Big Sandy on Kentucky Lake. Catching fish from 2 feet to 10 feet. High winds have halted a lot of boats from hitting the lake and catching these slabs. With the wind blowing hard, there are not many places to get out of the wind. Best colors are 3/32oz TeeZur Hot Head yellow/chart with a purple/chart skirt tipped with a crappie nibble and the Green Monster tipped with a minnow. Had Guide trip Sunday with 3 friends out of Clarksville, What a blast. First fish of the day was a 2 pound 10 oz KYL Slab. Winds were very high Sunday, which wouldn’t let us get to where we needed to be. Grab the poles and Kids and head to the lake, The crappie spawn is in full force now. I will be on the water for the next 5 days so I will try to post next Monday. Thanks and have a safe, Happy Holiday.

Charles KYLCRAPPIE
kylcrappie@hotmail.com
