REPORTS: Looks like a little more winter for the next couple of days anyway. The forecast is calling for another round of heavy snow in the mountains and rain and snow mixed at lower elevations. Unusually cold overnight temps combined with the high elevation storms will slow down the melt off in a big way. The upper Bitterroot is dropping hard once again now that the push from Painted Rocks is downstream. Fishing on the 'root is still not an option at this point, but if this cold snap stays with us for a few more days, you may get some fishing in on the upper river before the next push of snowmelt comes down. Near Darby, the river has dropped about 200 cfs in the past 24 hours. The lower river is actually up about 200 cfs in the same time-frame.

HATCHES: Midges, skwalas, March browns, caddis, yellow sallies.

FLIES: N/A.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This push of weather is going to lay down another low elevation blanket of snow that'll be just waiting to melt off with the next warm-up.
