REPORTS: Hmmm, there are about to be some very surprised and frosty salmonflies. The river has been dropping the past few days and gaining lots of clarity. It looks as if this weather will be with us for at least a few days now, so expect this trend to continue into the weekend. This being the case, you can anticipate falling water levels area wide the next few days and in some spots, decent fishing once again. Upper Rock Creek should be one of those spots for wading, and floating the entire river is getting better by the hour. Don't expect great dryfly action with the nights getting back into the mid 20s, but easier wading will make for better nymph and streamer fishing from shore, particularly on the upper end of the creek.

HATCHES: Midges, skwalas, March Browns, caddis, salmonflies.

FLIES: You'll be better off sticking to stonefly nymphs with red San Juan worm droppers. Slow moving streamers will also be a good option the next few days in the cold weather.
