[font "Arial"][#003e00][size 2]Little Red[/url] River: [/size][/#003e00][/font]Lindsey's Rainbow Resort said the Corps is running some water in the afternoon. The best bait seems to be wax worms and chartreuse Power Eggs. Also try Rapalas, Shad Raps and Rattlin Rogues.

[#003e00]Greers[/#003e00][/url][#003e00] Ferry Lake:[/#003e00] Shiloh Marina reports Kentucky bass are starting to school early in the morning and late in the evening around the outside edge of the buck brush. Walleye are still being caught trolling with ¼-ounce white jigs tipped with minnows. Catfishing is good on jugs baited with large shiners.

[#003e00]Toad[/url] Suck Lock and Dam[/#003e00]: Bates Field and Stream said bream fishing is good in the backwaters using worms and crickets. Crappie are hitting minnows around brush piles about 15 feet deep. Catfishing is good with nightcrawlers, minnows or shad.

Bream and redear are being caught on crickets. Crappie fishing is fair, but slowing down some using minnows, jigs and crickets. Bass fishing is good with spinner baits, crickets and minnows. Catfishing is excellent, hitting everything from worms and crickets to stink bait. Hatchet Jack’s Sport Shop said bass fishing is good using white buzz baits, worms and lizards. Crappie are hitting minnows and red and chartreuse Danamax jigs. Bream and bluegill are on the beds and hitting crickets, red worms and wax worms.

Crappie fishing is slow. Night fishing for bass has picked up on black spider or black and red lizards. Catfishing is fair at night in the shallow water using bream.

[#003e00]Arkansas[/#003e00][/url][#003e00] River:[/#003e00] Charley’s Hidden Harbor near Oppelo said the river flow is 11,000 cubic feet with the headwater at 284.55 and the tailwater at 265.40. White bass fishing is very strong and getting better on jetties using Shad Raps and Sassy Shads. Black bass fishing is very good using buzz baits early and changing to fire tiger-colored crank baits on top of the jetties later in the day. Kentucky bass are running around jetties near drop offs and hitting camo or June bug-colored worms. Catfish are four to 10 feet deep and hitting nightcrawlers early in the day. Bream fishing is strong in the shallow water using crickets. Crappie are being caught in five to 10 feet of water with live minnows. Stripers are being caught on jetty tips using shad floated six to 10 feet deep or with crank baits.

[#003e00]Arkansas River (Little Rock area): [/#003e00]Hatchet Jack’s Sport Shop said bass are hitting parrot-colored Bandit crank bait and fire tiger Model A Bombers around jetty points on the down current side. Flathead catfish are being caught using perch and slicks. Channel and blue catfish are being caught on trotlines baited with skipjack, shad and chicken hearts.

[#003e00]Pickthorne Lake:[/#003e00] Hatchet Jack’s Sport Shop said the bream are on the beds and fishing is excellent using red worms, wax worms or crickets. Crappie fishing is slow. Bass fishing is good with buzz baits or zoom lizards. Catfishing is good with nightcrawlers or chicken liver.

[#003e00]Murray Lock and Dam:[/#003e00] Hatchet Jack’s Sport Shop said catfishing is excellent using skipjack, shad and nightcrawlers. Crappie fishing is good using a slip cork rig with live minnows. Whites and stripers are hitting jigs, Twistertails and CC spoons. The bite is better on cloudy days. Fishermen are also having some luck snagging for catfish.

[#003e00]North [/#003e00][#003e00]Fork[/#003e00][/url][#003e00] River: [/#003e00]Fly-fishing guide John Gulley said the river has been running a little high during the daytime, but dropping back down at night. Fishing has been a little slow, but some nice fish are being caught by the fly fishermen using San Juan Worms, various colored Glow Bugs and a 1/64-ounce pink jig. Spin fishermen are using blue and silver Countdown Rapalas. Bait fishermen are having good luck with just about anything including crawfish tails, worms, corn and Power Bait.

Crappie fishing is fair with minnows and jigs. Bass fishing is very good using top water baits. White bass are up in the creek arms hitting top water baits and crank baits. Catfishing is good on limb lines.

[#003e00]Lake [/#003e00][#003e00]Norfork[/#003e00][/url][#003e00]:[/#003e00] Cranfield Junction Quik Stop said walleye fishing is beginning to pick up trolling Hot’n Tots, Norman Razor Minnows and live shad. Bream are hitting crickets. Crappie fishing is fair in 12 to 35 feet of water around brush piles and near docks using minnows. White, largemouth, striper and hybrid bass fishing is good early in the morning using top water baits, jigs and Hula Grubs and at night with single spins and Larew Worms. Catfish are being caught on jugs and trotlines.
