[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][#990033][size 3]EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR [/size][/#990033][/font] [indent][font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][size 3]Fishing has been slow this past week with only a few rainbow and brown trout being caught. The fish averaged 11 inches and were taken with night crawlers and PowerBait. Anglers reported the best time to catch fish were in the early mornings and late afternoons.[/size][/font][font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][size 3]

[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][#990033][size 3]ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR[/size][/#990033][/font] [indent][font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"]Fishing pressure was very heavy during the free fishing day activities. Anglers using an assortment of baits and lures reported good success for rainbow trout, the majority of which were stocked 11-inch fish. A few fish that measured around 13 inches were caught.[/font][font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"] [/font][/indent]

[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][size 3][#990033]LAKE MEAD[/#990033][/size][/font] [indent][font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][size 3]Boaters are still having fair success for striped bass in the Boulder Basin and Overton Arm while shore anglers have had no luck during the past week, according to the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW).[/size][/font]

[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][size 3]Over the weekend boaters caught stripers that weighed from 1 to 3 pounds around Stewart’s Point. Channel catfish are also being caught in that area by boaters and shore anglers.[/size][/font]

[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][size 3]Boaters told NDOW creel census clerks that they managed to catch a few largemouth bass and several smallmouth bass over the weekend in the Overton Arm. Most of the smallmouths have been coming from around Echo Bay.[/size][/font]

[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][size 3]Two shore fishermen had no luck while fishing for stripers early Monday (6/14/04) morning at Hemenway Point and Pumphouse Cove. They said one angler they encountered at Hemenway Point had caught a pair of catfish that were 2 to 3 pounds.
Boaters are still finding stripers from Hemenway Point to Boulder Beach and at Boxcar Cove and the 33 Hole. Casting Sassy Shad lures and drifting with anchovies are taking the fish.[/size][/font]

[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][size 3]A boater who was fishing over the weekend near Temple Bar said fishing was fair for l
largemouth bass. The fish are biting on artificial worms and tube lures.

[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][#990033][size 3]LAKE MOHAVE[/size][/#990033][/font] [indent]Fair action was found on Saturday (6/12/04) for boaters who were fishing for striped bass above Cottonwood Cove as creel census clerks checked 119 fish, the biggest of which weighed 4 pounds. By Sunday the fishing made a turn for the worse and fishing was poor.

Largemouth bass fishing has been fair in coves around Cottonwood Cove and creel clerks saw a fish that weighed 3 pounds.

Rainbow trout will be stocked from shore at Willow Beach on Friday, July 2. This is the first of the weekly plants that will take place from Willow Beach Hatchery.

KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA[/#990033] [/size][/font] [indent]The water temperatures cooled slightly to the low 70s last week due to cold weather that hit the area. However, temperatures have begun to rise with the arrival of warmer weather.

Rainbow trout fishing has been good and all of the fishing parties that were checked over the weekend by NDOW creel census clerks had trout. Most of the fish were just under a pound, but there were a few that weighed around 2 pounds. Anglers fishing from the dams are catching trout with PowerBait and live worms.

Largemouth bass are in a post-spawning mode and the action for them has been fair. NDOW is reminding anglers that bass must be 10 inches in total length in order to be kept.[/indent]

[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][#990033]URBAN PONDS[/#990033][/font] [indent]Channel catfish are scheduled to be stocked Thursday (6/17/04) in ponds at Floyd Lamb State Park, Lorenzi Park and Sunset Park in Las Vegas and Veterans Memorial Park in Boulder City.[/indent]
