Local fishing
#1
Just wanted to let everyone know that there has been some very good barracuda and sand bass fishing locally. The 3/4 day boat Victory reported the other day crossing "miles" of fish and caught easy limits with over 500 barracuda!!!

Also very good sand bass fishing at the Horseshoe kelp area with some decent scores on calico bass.

Does anybody have any recent reports of any local stuff?

Lets hope that the seabass continue to bite since the limit goes back to 3 on Sunday!!!!

Milo

I'll be watching. Now that everyone has tuna fever maybe the loads will be down a little.

I see that squid is still around. Is it unusual for them to be around this late in the year?

Fishslayer

Hey Fishslayer,
Not very uncommon for the squid to make a showing this time of year. It is the seabass that always seem to sneak away right when the limit goes up to 3 per angler.

"They just seem to know!!!"

Very frustrating. Just when another good seabass season continues to happen and you feel like you will really be able to load up the freezer, June 15th comes along and shuts the bite right off!!!! What a pisser. You never know though. Maybe something will still happen. The yellows have been starting to bite so at least that makes up for the lack of seabass.

See ya on the water.

Milo
