FISHING CONDITIONS ON LAKES CADILLAC AND MITCHELL
FROM PILGRIM VILLAGE FISHING SHOP
SUNDAY, JULY 4, 2004

PIKE-Good, fish the weed beds and drop offs for pike. Most have been 18 to 26 inches with good numbers reported. You have to fish deeper for the larger ones. Minnow type crank baits and large minnows work best. Lots of action.

PANFISH-Excellent, fat healthy 8 and 9 inch bluegills and sunfish were still on their beds. Wax worms, crickets and leaf worms all took their share. Let's see what this week's storms will do to them. Lake Mitchell has been better for gills.

CRAPPIE-Good, the East side of Cadillac was the best. Most used small minnows, wax worms and or tiny jigs to take their share. Smaller crappie are closer to the surface. You have to get below them to find the large ones, some in the 14" range. Also, some large rock bass were caught in the same area.

BASS-Good, fish the normal summer patterns for them. Docks, weed beds and shore lines for large mouths. Drop offs and deeper flats for small mouths. Senkos, crank baits, leeches and crawlers all work. See picture.

WALLEYE-Poor, few reported this week
