New to the State
#1
Hi BFTer's,
I am new to the state and I love to fish. I have been a BFT user before but I wanted a new Colorado flare user name.

I love all types of fishing but I must say my favorite type of fishing is walleye. As soon as my boat comes into town I will be out on the water. I live in Arvada and would like to take the kids to a pond to fish. Do the ponds by Lakeside Amusement park hold fish? If you what kind. Thanks for the info.

Welcome to Colorado! If your talking about the ponds just off the freeway, I would have to say those are so poluted that no fish could survive. If your looking for a pond, try the Barbour ponds in Longmont or closer to you are the ponds just north-east of Chatfield resevoir (right off c-470), Im not sure what they are called as I havent been there yet, but I know its free to get in and a lot of people fish there and say its pretty good.

Welcome PescadorColorado!

Nice to have you here. Sorry to say I don't know a lot about the ponds in the north metro area. I live down south near Chatfield. However, the Colorado Division of Wildlife puts out a booklet called "Fishing Close To Home" that lists all the metro area ponds and small lakes that are public, the species in each, etc. I think it costs around $7 or so, but it's well worth it. Lots of bait/tackle shops have it. You can also order it from the DOW website:

Keep us posted on other questions and how you're doing.
