GFP Offers Fun and Educational Programs at the State Fair

[size 2]PIERRE, S.D. - Game, Fish and Parks officials will be offering hands-on, educational programming for kids each day at this year’s South Dakota State Fair. These programs will be in addition to the traditional exhibits, aquariums and staff who answer questions at the GFP booth area. [/size]
[size 2]The schedule of programs includes:[/size]
[size 2]Saturday Sept. 4:[/size]
[size 2] staff from the Sertoma Butterfly House in Sioux Falls will be on hand to teach about those winged marvels-butterflies[/size]
[size 2]Sunday Sept. 5:[/size]
[size 2] GFP staff will be teaching kids about animal hearing and will help kids to create their own “animal ears.”[/size]
[size 2]Monday Sept. 6:[/size]
[size 2] try your hand at casting a lure at a “lunker” bass. A great time for kids of all ages![/size]
[size 2]Tuesday Sept. 7:[/size]
[size 2] learn about Lewis and Clark and the Corps of Discovery.[/size]
[size 2]Wednesday Sept. 8:[/size]
[size 2] come visit with staff from The Outdoor Campus as they create some fish prints.[/size]
[size 2]Thursday Sept. 9:[/size]
[size 2] join the staff from GFP in making some fun nature crafts.[/size]
[size 2]Friday Sept. 10:[/size]
[size 2] with this outdoor cooking program, you will definitely get to taste-test your creations.[/size]
[size 2]Game, Fish and Parks will also have a boating safety exhibit with staff on-hand all week. Stop by to see new safety equipment and visit with one of our boating safety specialists to see how you can make your days on the water safer.[/size]
