WATTS BAR
#1
Black and white bass are schooling in the larger bodies of water. Piney Creek as well as White's Creek are two places schoolers can be caught. Small crankbaits, jerk baits, and top-water lures can all be used to catch these fish. Some bigger bass are being caught on the deeper river structure. Plastic worms are the bait most fishermen are casting. Some catfish are being caught while drifting. The upper portion of the lake is the better area to fish for catfish while drifting. A lot of catfish are being caught at night by juggers in all areas of the lake. White bass are still being caught around humps, but the numbers are down. Striped bass are being caught in the Clinch River and in the tailwaters. Shad is the most popular bait. Bluegill are being caught while using crickets near the rocky bluff banks along the river
