Alberni Inlet Springs!
#1
Yup, they're here!
One buddy landed six this am off Holm Island and Coulson's Mill ranging from 27 through 36 pounds! Another got his two at the mill and lone tree point. Over 30 landed at the Mill yesterday! Most being caught on red gear (MP16's) behind green flashers at a quick (2.5knot) troll. Most hit at 45 feet.
Early is the word, as in get there before the sun shines for best results.

This is just the beginning! Predictions are for 100,000 returnees this summer - best in MANY years! Several over 40 taken already, and expectations are > 50 will take the big derby at the end of the month (Yup, I'll be in on that gong show - when you can WALK across the inlet from boat to boat)

Limits inside are two ANY size!! Outside one under 77cm, one over. More than a few tagged at Pill Point and Diplock last couple of days, so will be right in front by the week-end, joining those already in. Getting nothing but better each day that passes! Expect this to build right up to when the coho come in, again, large run of BIG coho's expected, and limits suggested at 4/day! Looking like Port Alberni will live up to its rep as the Salmon Capitol of the World this year! Get out there and get in on it!

Tight Lines!!
