catfish handling
#1
gotta say this, gosh! Watch those barefooted kids around catfish... A lot of times when attempting to remove a catfish from the hook, especially a small one, the fish gives a desperate little wiggle and slips from the hook.... Often landing dorsil barb down (Goosebumps) right on top of the foot....generally an onlookers foot. when I worked in the emergency room, this was as common as hooks inbedded in people. Granted.. most waterfareing shoes wouldn't help, being aware of where yours and others feet are, just might save a day... I personally agree with (bssmstr) in holding catfish for hook removal... Later we can talk about 'Flying Wormweights', and 'Hooks' that snag more than just fish. Play Safe and Tight Lines.. love those catfish... scoob
