I studied your picture a lot and I'm not sure one way or the other. I have landed at least 1000 AJ's of all sizes and never saw one with the defined point like yours. I have also caught several hundred Almaco's and none that big. Also the Almaco Jack usually has a more football like shape with a much bigger hump in the back at the dorsal. Your fish may be either one, and it could very well be a sub-species of the Greater Amberjack. I'll tell you it has peaked my interest to the point I would love to get there some time and land one for scientific study.
