Perch fishing in coastal estuaries continues to be poor.
Surf fishing for redtail surfperch continues to be fair coast wide when seas allow.
Coastal jetty fishing continues to be poor coast wide.
Charter boats: Halibut and tuna trips are doing fair with tuna reported at 35-40 miles offshore on the central coast.
Anglers at Bandon and Gold Beach are landing anchovy, shad and sardine. The rest of the coastal catches are sporadic and consist mainly of sardine.
The sport fishery for major groundfish species is closed in all saltwater areas (including fishing from shore, in estuaries and the ocean). This closure includes all rockfishes, lingcod and greenling. Fishing for cabezon closed in August. Retention of these species is prohibited by all methods of take. Other recreational saltwater fishing opportunities remain open. These include: flounder, sole, sanddabs, perch, herring, anchovy, smelt, sardine, striped bass and offshore pelagic species. Salmon continues to be an active sport fishery and some limited seasons are open for halibut.
