Night fishing Lake Ontario
#1
Night fishing along the Lake Ontario shoreline has been awesome. The last 6 trips we have been finished in 3-4 hours with limit catches. Trolling or casting glow lures continues to the best producing techniques. Some fish are being taken during the daytime but not to many. The Lake has been calm, clear and the water temps are still warm. Add bright sunny days, and the conditions are less than ideal for fishing in the shallow waters along the shoreline. As soon as the sun sets the fish move in and the fun begins. The river level remains low (335cfs until midnight Fri.) and river fishing has been slow with very few fresh fish moving up. The longer the fish hang out in the lake the better. Its been the best fishing of the season thus far.
Good Luck
