#1
I heard on the radio news today at lunch that someone drowned at the lake last night after the 24' searay he was fishing on started to sink, there was one survivor.

anyone know the details. the brief Thunderstorm that passed my house didn't look to bad and we didn't have too much wind. but I heard the sinking was weather related.

Be carefull out there!

Well, I haven't fished Mead but I spent last weekend in Mammoth and fished the June loop for a few rainbows, and also fished one day in Hawaii for a few nice Yellowfin Tuna. I found more info about the accident in the RJ

A Las Vegas man was found dead Tuesday after the boat he was in capsized on Lake Mead during a thunderstorm Monday evening.
The man went fishing with an acquaintance, who told National Park Service rangers that the victim got separated from the boat after it was swamped during a storm that hit about 8:30 p.m., according to the Park Service.
Winds during the storm reached 50 mph and waves were five to six feet high, the Park Service said.
The survivor told rangers he stayed with the boat during the storm and later reached an island near Echo Bay.
Two fishermen Tuesday morning found the survivor and the swamped boat. Echo Bay Resort employees and Park Service rangers located the victim at about 8:45 a.m., the Park Service said.
The identities of the victim and survivor were withheld Tuesday.
The incident is the 20th fatality at Lake Mead National Recreation Area this year.
