Ono
#1
Just want to let everyone know. If your looking for ono (wahoo), the Kona bite is awesome right now. You can easily pick up a dozen or more in a day (with a good captain). Sizes range from 20 to 50 lbs.

Capt. Jeff

You hit the nail on the head Dan, Many just "want to catch fish" and have fun doing it! My trips are "for you the customer". One case in point is with this great ono run happening, Why use 130 lb. tackle to target 20 to 50 lb. fish [mad]??? Yet I see it every day on the other charter boats. I use Penn 30 Stand-up in the ono lane! More fun that way!

I also run the boat by myself (no deckhand) and get my customers active in setting and retreiving lines. Even if they've never handled that kind of tackle before, I teach 'em as we go. It beats setting there watching a deckhand do it. I have more fun that way too [Smile].

No problem with the big marlin either. Wind-on leader is the key.

I'm pretty sure I met you when you fished Kona Dan. I recognize you from the pic on your web site. I was the deckhand on the Puka Kai back then.

Capt. Jeff
K-IX Charters
