Salmon River Columbus day run
#1
Columbus Day weekend on the Salmon River was fabulous. Large numbers of kings were on the move thoughout the entire river. Loads of fish are spawning in the upper river and plenty more are moving there way up through the lower river as well. Steelheads and brown trout have been around as well, but no loads yet. The water at 335cfs, still low for this time of the year. This has kept me from driftboating most days because it' been a bumpy, rough ride. Crowds are keying in on the normally high pressure areas, mostly because of easy access. I have been getting to the out of the way areas and finding holes with very few anglers. It look very good for the rest of the month. Gook luck
