[size 2]PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota’s final dose of medicine for ringneck fever is a cure-all. All affected hunters can take to the field at noon, Saturday, Oct. 16, for South Dakota’s main pheasant opener.[/size]
[size 2]Unit 1 will be open Oct. 16 through Jan. 2, 2005. Unit 2, (all areas not in Unit 1), including the counties of Butte, Meade, Lawrence and the portion of Pennington west of the Cheyenne River, will be open Oct. 16-24. [/size]
[size 2]Sand Lake National Wildlife Refuge in Brown County and Renziehausen Game Production Area and Refuge in Brown/Marshall counties are open Dec. 13 through Jan. 2, 2005. Lacreek National Wildlife Refuge in Bennett County is open from Oct. 16 through Jan. 2, 2005. [/size]
[size 2]The regular season daily limit for pheasants is three roosters, with a possession limit of 15 roosters taken according to the daily limit. Shooting hours are noon (CDT) to sunset through Oct. 30, and from 10 a.m. (CST) to sunset thereafter. [/size]
