Sunday, 10/24: Hit the water early (5:45 am). We headed for Las Vegas Bay to net some live shad. No problem there, we filled the live wells quickly with just a few throws. Compared to several weeks ago, live shad have been easy to locate and catch recently. I've also noticed that there are alot of anglers tossing nets now. We began fishing just inside Las Vegas Wash and the action started immediately. For about 2 1/2 hours the bite was really steady. We caught 22 fish, most of them around 2 lbs. We released the smaller stripers and the larger ones that were skinny. I've noticed that the fish we're catching now are in much better shape than they were a month ago. Hopefully they'll continue to fill out as the season goes on. It was a beautiful day to be on the lake. It seemed like alot of anglers were hooking up fish. It's looking like the month of November may shape up to be very productive at Lake Mead.
